EBSCOHOST online research databases are the premium online information resources for tens of thousands of institutions worldwide, offering a broad range of full text and bibliographic databases designed for research.  The following EBSCO databases are accessible through the library:

Academic Search Elite -- Covering virtually every area of academic study dating as far back as 1985.

American Doctoral Dissertations, 1933-1955 --  provides electronic access to the only comprehensive record of  22 years of dissertations accepted by American universities during that time period, the print index Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities.

Caribbean Search -- A multidisciplinary database that provides a comprehensive guide to English-language articles pertinent to the countries and people of the Caribbean region. The collection contains books, scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, reports and reference materials.

ERIC -- the Education Resource Information Center, contains more than 1.3 million records and access to information from journals included in the Current Index to Journals in Education and  Resources in Education Index.

European Views of the Americas: 1493-1750 – access to a bibliographic database of European works that relate to the Americas covering a wide range of subject areas; from natural disasters to disease outbreaks and slavery.

GreenFILE -- offers information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment including global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.

LISTA --Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts -- Indexes journals, books, research reports and proceedings covering librarianship and information management.

Religion and Philosophy Collection -- Provides extensive coverage of such topics as world religions, major denominations, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy.

SocINDEX with Full Text -- Comprehensive and highest quality sociology research database. It includes journals, books, monographs, and conference papers containing information dating back to 1908.

Teacher Reference Center (TRC) – provides indexing and abstracts for over 260 of the most popular teacher and administrator journals and magazines to assist professional educators.

E-BOOK Collection – Primarily in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Proquest/Ebrary

Offering authoritative e-books in a wide range of subject areas, along with powerful tools to help users find, use, and manage the information.

Newspaper Archives of the Jamaica Gleaner

This online database contains more than 970,000  historical newspaper pages from the Gleaner. The full-page newspapers date back to 1834 and are searchable by keyword and date.
